Talk about time

Funny, time seems to be flying by. The kids have had their first week of school. So far, so good. I wish T.W. would eat breakfast!. I have to remind her every morning. With both of the younger kids now in middle school , I am planning to go back to school myself, I start in a few weeks. It is feels like the timing is right. It feels like I HAVE to do it.
Summer held a few highlights, Court graduated. That was big. She is working part time and we have our fingers crossed that she will indeed start class in January like she says she will. We went to OCNJ with J.'s family. A nice enough vacation. J. went to Las Vegas for work. We didn't go to All Good. Bummed a bit, but there is always next year...
This has been a tough year. We are waiting to see if J. will get a new job. His current employer was sold this week. The stress is so thick, you can cut it with a knife. I have been very emotional myself. My mom's birthday is right after mine. It's close. My sister is no where to be found. No cell phone, no address I can reach her at. I had a real eye opener with that, all the little things adding up. I feel sick inside. Sad. My prayers are in the safety of her kids, their mental and physical health. We have never been close. Years apart and miles apart. This is how it is.
  J. got free tickets on Tues. for  Shen Yun at the Kennedy Center. Very last minute, but we decided to go anyway. HA! It was a church service! A cheesy one at that! I am not a professional reviewer, but, well, thank goodness it was free! We did however enjoy a nice casual dinner at Farmers and Fishes in Georgetown. By the water. Could go again for sure. Loved the Hawiian Marinated Ribeye with pineapple salad. Yumm!
All that said,  there is so much in between. Ready for the weekend.

Bloggin' Friend

My dear friend http://cleeitsallaboutme.blogspot.com/ has started blogging. This chic is on fire. Here I can't think of 10 words to say in years of trying to write a blog. You go girl!!
News on this front is spring has sprung, and we are busy. Tiny Whiny started soccer with Upward. I think this will be her last season with them. Monkey went to his first anime convention with his big sis, her beau, and a good friend. My oldest, sweet girl graduates too soon. J and I flew out to Colorado almost 2 weeks ago. My mom passed away. I can't  fully express my feelings. She has been sick for at least 10 years. She was only 54. It's surreal.

The Snow of 2010

It is coming down...alot. people are still driving, but much slower. They say we could get 2-3 feet!! I know I will be writing, reading and sipping some tea. Maybe even looking at cameras online. I would love a new camera. The old one was broke in...July..August...
Plans to go get the oldest one her grandparents car may be on hold for next weekend..depending on the out come of this weekend. Lucky girl gets a sweet ride for an early graduation.
I bought a bottle of wine today. Not much of a drinker, just thought hey..stoke up the fire, cudlle with my guy..life could be worse. I also grabbed a couple if discount tickets for the Kennedy Center Brunch..I don't know if we will use them in the next month, but soon. They don't expire til August. I am thrilled at my purchase, I hope J is too!

Hello October, I've missed you!

It is windy, it is cool, it is October! My favoritest! I have had an emtionally charged week with my kid, I am glad it's over. Out at the farm, I helped bake again this week, making 38 pecan pies. I still need to hone my "perfect crust" skills. It has been a nice change of pace, from picking veggies, and much better on the sinuses.I am trying at this writhing thing. maybe I will be inspired to write more later.

Eighteen Years

J and I celebrated our 18th Anniversary today. We didn't do much, Just out to our favorite local Mexican place for lunch, Casa Gonzales.  He worked. I read a book. Later, when the kids came home we flew a kite and  we had spaghetti  A nice fall day, contented in our daily lives with the kids.
That said, there are not many words I can speak that could express my feelings for my best friend of 18 years. It's more than love. My heart would not make it through this world without him.

Sunday Thought

Well, it is a beautiful day, and it has passed before me. I slept in, drove Monkey to the game store, and here I am on the computer. I made a list of "to-dos" last night for the week.
J and I went out for a short time yesterday to Shepherdstown. It was raining. We stayed long enough to get a bite at the Blue Moon Cafe and some blisters on my heels from boots I bought at a second- hand store this summer. Does anyone have problems finding shoes like me?!! UGH! it am left to an old pair of sneakers, boots, and flip flops. I LOVE shoes!! A sad day.
Joined the Vintage Swaap, and I got my partner. This looks fun! I am looking forward to it!
